Many times in life, isn't this the situation? In the midst of busy schedules and doing important things, we often lose sight of what is truly important. And when we realise what we lost, we can't seem to find the 'key' to go back.

We lost the password-the right to access in someone precious' life, the closeness we once had among friends, the trust of a beloved companion.
It takes extra effort then, to rebuild and find what has been lost, to regain access. Let us learn to treasure what is important; never to let the urgent cloud our judgement of what is truly important.

Baby shower!

Hello, its me again. hehe.
Its gonna be fun gathering at Joo Chiat for Lauren's baby shower. Excited mee :] Hope to see everyone there. For more info can contact Joel, Pearly or Xueni :D. Can also contact anyone la, we'll all help you with information need okay :P Anyway, am also here to share about the trip to Katong to visit our dear Guo En at his work place.

And eating smelly tofu after that. Our brave tofu warriors, YiQuan, John, XueNi, Gabriel, KiatSeng and myself, we conquered the smelly tofu and gulped in down to our tummy. Although KiatSeng didn't eat it, but brave enough to take photo with smelly tofu. wahha.

Yay, 3 cheers for tofu warriors.

And lastly, I'd like to share a video with everyone. :)

Sup, Eugene here. I ain't sure who is reading this or hopefully putting this up on the blog, but whoever it is thanks again -laughs-

Well, jus did my prayer time, and some bible reading. Had various people in mind during prayer. I won't know their exact problems as I didn't approach any of em'. But I guess it's kinda like "It takes one to know one", or maybe a gut feeling. Well, all i wanna do is help, even if its jus a lil'

Anyway with that said, here's a real, touching story of a Christian couple and their newborn.

This preacher is outstanding, but for those who are feeling in the dumps, hopefully they could just see this 4th part instead of the whole video.

Lastly, Just verses i want to share, given to me during my personal time with God. I know it's not easy to walk through life, even more so when we're living in a world with more and more bad news every day, and even more so when we walk with God!

But As Mentioned in the bible,

Jeremiah 29:11-14

^"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (NKJ)

In the NIV version, it says "For I know the plans I have for you"

¹² Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

¹³ And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

¹⁴ I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity..."

Basically, it talks about a group of people going into exile for 70 years as decided by God. Later on, God said those verses to comfort and encourage these people. In relation, when we're hard pressed by situations, we should not solely judge the severity of the "judgement" now, but to really look at the long distant promises God made to us individually during the earlier years of our lives.

In closure, when we get desperate, sad, fustrated, disappointed, etc., we tend to lose sight of the cross, and unconsciously sway to our carnal flesh. Guys, always remember why you've living a life with God. When the world tells you to bear your burden, our Father tells you to bring your burden to him! We might fall, but never give up!

PS: If the following are approved, please rephrase whatever's needed, and please please please, don't say it's from me! All I'm hoping is that the following videos can help the most of us. I'm finally back!

Hello people, Siying here again. hahah.
I'm finally able to come back for normal CG and service with you guys. Am so excited to be able to fellowship and joke with everyone again! =) Bet you guys missed me too! :P haha!!!

For this week, we'll be having church wide bible study like last week! On the Songs of Solomon. This week will be on faltering love, which is continued by last week's title "Initial Love". Do try to come okay!

And those are not able to make it, there'll be a make up CG at Darryl's house this Sunday at 1.30pm. Those who've went for the Songs of Solomon do not have to attend the Sunday cell group :)

And there'll be prayer meeting at Riverwalk this coming Saturday at 11.30am. *yell with excitement* Hope to see you guys there okay! :D

Lastly, a little verse I would like to share with you guys.

He will cover you with his feathers,

This is what pulled me through the whole week of busy and tiring trainings and lessons and alot of things. Whenever I felt like giving up, I know He is behind me supporting me. =)

Back from superteens!

Hello guys, I'm back from superteens camp.
Thanks XueNi and KiatSeng for coming down to woodlands even if it is late. I enjoyed my birthday and received all of your blessings. Love everyone. Hehe. And the birthday cards and everything of course. :)

I remember a message said about dream busters. Failure and fears can be dream busters, and if you can look at them in a different way, they become your greatest motivator.

We can get the best motivational talker in the world to talk to us, but if we're not willing to help ourself, no one can help us.

People can open the door for you, but its you who decides whether you wanna go into the door...

Very simple thing but it really helped me a lot this week. In superteens camp, we're made to think about the dreams we used to have as a child... The hopes we have when we're young...

I actually cried because I've realized so many dreams are broken, or I've given up. Just because of little fear and failure... I remember the talker said: "You have emerged as a champion even before you're born, the first race you fight in your mum's womb... Do you still remember who you are? You used to be your parents' dream and hope, how about now?"

It really waked me up... And revived my dreams, and am motivated to revive my parents' hope and dreams for me...

Mid Week Pondering...

Hi Guys!

I was reading the Bible this morning, and I read an AWESOME version of James 1 in The Message Bible! An excerpt here:

James 1

2-4Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

5-8If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves. Don't think you're going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

12Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life.

God is awesome, and you guys are awesome! Just want to encourage you to keep on keeping on...when the going gets tough, the tough gets GOD!! ;)

A motivating story

Hi, I thought it was a really nice email a friend forwarded me and I think it's good to share this here. =) Enjoy!

John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a natural motivator.

If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious,
so one day I went up and asked him, "I don't get it!"

"You can't be a positive person all of the time.
How do you do it?"

He replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood."

Each time something bad happens,
I can choose to be a victim or...
I can choose to learn from it.
I choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining,
I can choose to accept their complaining or...
I can point out the positive side of life.
I choose the positive side of life.

"Yeah, right... It's not that easy," I protested.

"Yes, it's not," he said. "Life is all about choices.
When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations.
You choose how people affect your mood."

I reflected on what he said...

Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later,
I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was discharged from the hospital with body braces.

I saw him about six months after the accident.

When I asked him how he was, he replied,
"If I were any better, I'd be twins...
Wanna see my scars?"

I said no to his offer but asked him, "What went through your mind when you met that accident?"

"The first thing that went through my mind, was the well-being of my soon-to-be-born daughter," he replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices:
I could choose to live or...
I could choose to die. I chose to live."

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.

"The paramedics were great," he continued...

"They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER, I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting
questions at me," he replied. "She asked if I was allergic to anything and I said yes. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply.
I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity!'"

Over their laughter, I told them,
"I am choosing to live.
Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."

He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors,
but also because of his amazing attitude...
I learned from him that every day
we have the choice to live fully.

Attitude, after all, is everything.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.

1. Those who are going for the Zone Prayer Meeting this coming Friday at EDB, please meet XueNi at Tiong Bahru Plaza, 6.30pm for dinner! EDB is a new place for CHEC, so do try to make it and check it out. Also the awesome Zone Prayer Meeting that you cannot afford to miss. Kekeke.
